Journey to Japan – Part 2 – Ebisu, Tsukiji Fish Market, Akihabara

By admin, March 21, 2016

Our first official day in Tokyo and we thought we would do some exploring of our own.

Starting out from the appartment in Ebisu, we found a place where the salary men have breakfast.. a traditional Japanese noodle shop. After this we made our way to Ebisu station and navigated the Japanese Metro to Tsukiji, home of the famous Tsukiji Fish Market. We explored the outer market where there were loads of market stalls, you can sample quite a lot of weird and wonderful food here.

We did attempt to go to the actual fish market but it said that prams were not welcome so we didn’t go.

After this, we were back on the Metro to find our way to Akihabara, home of video games, anime, manga, and computer goods. We did walk into some of the shops and have a look at all the stuff and even played some games. I had a go at one of the crane games and you can see that I was spot on in maneuvering the crane but it wasn’t able to give me a win! A bit of a con! We did watch a lot of people play these games and didn’t see a single person walk away with anything!

Anyway, as it was our first day and pretty much jet lagged, we were soon tired and made our way back home!

Watch out for part 3 soon!
